Formerly the home of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the Longfellow National Historic Site features centuries-old objects, archives, and furnishings. Exhibits cover the life and times of Longfellow and his family, and also, briefly, the story of General George Washington, who used the house as headquarters during the Siege of Boston. It's located west of Old Cambridge and the campus of Harvard University, near Cambridge Common.
